Frequently asked questions
What does Attr-X mean?
It refers to ' extending attributes'. The title is not really referring to the content of the game, but more towards the object oriented programming. The first my software was only intended for live performances I did with Kristof Lauwers, where we both had our own approach to programming electronic music and tried to combine those. We used it as the name for our duo, and my software was called the Attr-X software. But then this started to evolve in this online multiplayer idea, and the name just stuck. I considered some titles like 'SoundBalls' and such, but decided that Attr-X sounds and looks good in a way.
Why did you make this?
I always liked games with a big world you could walk around in. Much more than fighting the actual monsters. And I don't like the movie-like music you hear in most games that much. So at a point I decided to try and make something of my own: a virtual world where you can enjoy the scenery, and do something with interesting sounds. this is it. (Well, it's a start.)
What's the point in this game?
There is no point. It's like in our lives that way. But you can still enjoy it. Or perhaps not, but then there's the 'quit' button.
Why do I need an expensive video card to run your software?
Because otherwise you'll just spend the money on more beer. And besides, since I want to enjoy walking through it's world, I want this to look as good as currently is possible in real-time.
